Revised design

2nd Revision

The white blocks are for members to sign. The "G" is for Guineas, The "C" for chickens and the "P" is for peafowl. The outer flowers are Tulips. The border around the outside is the same as the small yellow floral backing for the chickens. The Guineas will have a dark Green and navy backing ( Square ). The back of the quilt is also the small floral print

another bolt of material for hens & roos One of our favorites for sure going on quilt Peafowl do not have blocks yet

There are 16 Chickens, 16 Guineas and 4 peafowl.

There will be a different appliquéd Hen and or Roo on ea. finished 8X8 block.
Alternate colors will be a dark green and navy blue. The dark green satin will be the color of the blocks for the Peafowl. The Guineas will be on Navy Blue blocks. Marion is making the Tulip for the inside of the outer border and then the Yellow floral material will be the extreme outer 2 1/2" finished border .

All of the, Chickens, Roos, Guineas and Peafowl will be temp attached to the blocks using "wonder under", then stitched on. All the blocks will be sewn together in correspondence with the diagram at top. The batting and yellow floral backing will be  added and then all of it will be quilted. Each fowl appliquéd will be quilted to all three layers.

Update 2-14-03

The block sizes have change because the Fowl seem lost with too much solid color and it over powered the birds. The block sizes are now unfinished size 6.5X6.5". This will make a much nicer and more tight quilt as far as color variations go. Once all the birds are quilted, it will have a 3D effect and will make them really stand out nicely
