The side of War We Don't See...

It is The Heart of Faith - a common bond in which we share a Purpose; Hope that we make a difference for the world and those we are charged to protect. It is Faith in a higher power that will see our men and women, and  allies, through difficult times.

It is the Heart of Simplicity-Respect and Love-for all God's creatures, great and small, for in knowing that the Hand that created the smallest also created the greatest and there is equal value to Him who made us...

It is the Heart of Loneliness-for home, family and friends; loneliness for the familiar scents, sounds, voices and our homeland...

It is the heart of Humanity – reaching out with a smile and a Heart of Compassion-for those who have yet to learn the meaning of Freedom. It is the Heart of Sharing with those who know only hunger and fear and strangers in their land…

It is the Heart that Listens to the unspoken; it is the heart of a Universal Language of pain, fear and sadness that need no words to share an understanding...

These are the men and women who serve so there won't be another 9/11. They are sons, daughters, husbands and wives. They are our friends and courageous allies who are not afraid to stand with us.  These are the heroes who stand in harm’s way so that the child who has no name might know the safety of a soldier’s arms; that she might live to be free and live dreams;  and to know of a world that cares.

How can we let a day go by and not hold these images in our hearts? How can we not pray for them and their families with humility and gratitude that they are there for us? God Bless Them One and All, these courageous souls who know the other side of war.
